Battlelords Roleplaying Game
Close to 35 years ago I received my baptism of fire in modern page layout tools when I promised a friend that I could layout his roleplaying game rulebook in QuarkXpress despite not knowing how to use it. 300 pages later, I knew it pretty well. Battlelords is a sci-fi RPG where I’ve been involved in nearly every aspect of its creation: art director, illustrator, editor, writer, marketer, play-tester, system designer, publisher, and now IP licensor. It’s still the only RPG I will make time to play. Sorry, D&D.
The nine titles produced during the revival of the game line I designed and art directed.
Our production was largely made possible by using a then relatively new business model: print-on-demand production.
Paper miniatures, designed to be cut out and assembled by the user to represent their specific character species while playing with a tabletop map.
