Why ‘Mike O.’

I’ve got a last name that’s hard to pronounce; Osadciw. It’s a Ukrainian name and if you can read the Cyrillic alphabet it’s easy enough: Осадців. See? In English though, not so much. People have been calling me Mike O. since I was a kid and it’s stuck. I do appreciate it when people put in the effort to try and get it right.
